Diana Palacios, Esq. – WINNIN’ TIME!

WINNIN’ TIME! and The Trigger List are must haves for any California Bar Exam taker; the ultimate one-two punch. WINNIN’ TIME! made it easy for me to memorize many of the tests and standards that I could not memorize by reading the outlines provided by commercial bar courses because it provides short statements of the law. Meanwhile, The Trigger List taught me when to apply each test and standard and which issues were often tested together. I can say with certainty that these two books helped me pass the Bar.

From experience, I know that Steven is fantastic at what he does and cares about all test takers (even those who are not his students). After taking the July Bar Exam, I learned in October that three of my essays did not properly upload and therefore I would receive zeros for those essays. I was fortunate to have been placed in contact with Steven, who helped me appeal the decision. With his help and support, the Bar Committee decided that my answers would be graded.

I recommend Steven’s books because he has no other agenda or motive than ensuring that more people pass the California Bar Exam.

Denise P., Esq. (PT Class)

I found that attending Steven Harris’s Performance Test class and applying the specific techniques from his Guide to Performance Tests on the California Bar Exam were both essential to passing the California Bar Exam. During the exam I was able to complete both performance tests to my satisfaction, spell check them, and still had time to spare on both. I never could have done that prior to taking Steven’s PT class and applying the techniques in his Guide. — Denise P., Esq., passed the July 2014 California Bar Examination

Debbie Najar Perez, Esq. – passed February 2017! (PT Class, WINNIN’ TIME!)

Hello Steve,

I am happy to announce that I passed the February 2017 bar exam!

I credit some of my success to your services. I took the February 2017 bar exam as a repeater after having failed the July exam by a mere 8 points (3 points after the first read). The performance test was my downfall. Your winter performance test class gave me the tools I needed to approach the performance test. You provided a solid plan of attack which allowed me to read all the “relevant” materials, find my 5-7 issues, and finish in time. I won’t know my scores on the performance tests, but after each PT I felt very confident in my answer.

Your WINNIN’ TIME! book was invaluable! I used it to memorize the most frequently tested areas and write the rules in a short and precise manner. The Essay Review Week was also such a great tool. It was most useful to review past essays which revealed that the material can only be tested in so many ways. Also, a review of the answers showed that there is more than one way to answer any given question. Most of all, it revealed that answers do not have to be perfect, just good enough.

Finally, your Evidence Boilerplate prepared me for the evidence question on the February exam. I had my evidence approach and format, and it was simply a matter of filling in the blanks. This saved me so much time and ensured that I could maximize points.

Thank you again. I truly believe I could not have done it without your help. I have, and will continue to, recommend your program to future bar exam takers. Best, Debbie Najar Perez – passed the February 2017 California Bar Examination

Nicole Richardson, Esq. – passed on the 7th try!

Hello Steve:

I just wanted to give you some wonderful news! I went ahead and took the bar exam (I did call them after my grandfather’s passing and because he was an immediate family member, they would have credited the entire amount). But because the funeral was the Friday after the exam, I took the exam anyway.

And my name appears on the pass list!!!!!!

I was not able to check on Friday and Saturday because I was out of town. And I can no longer check by inputting my file number/applicant number. So I am just praying that the pass list is not a mistake and that my name is actually supposed to appear on that list.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for all your help. I know that it was the wonderful feedback and instruction that I received from you that did it this time for me. I know that PT A was hard for a lot of people but this one did not throw me because I just took a deep breath and applied exactly everything that you taught me. I mean EVERYTHING!!! I did not question it – I just did it!

I will confirm with you once I actually receive my letter. But it feels so good to say: I PASSED!!!!!

Thank you again for all that you do! Nicole Richardson, Esq., passed the July 2013 California Bar Examination

Daniel Felix, Esq. – WINNIN’ TIME! and The Trigger List

I can say with the utmost confidence that I would not have passed the bar without WINNIN’ TIME! or The Trigger List during my bar prep. I’m not one to give up and either is Steve. From the moment you pick up WINNIN’ TIME! you realize the Bar is not an insurmountable task rather its a test that requires you to score points. Before WINNIN’ TIME! I was not getting the points because I was not playing the game right. Steve helped change that for me.

I followed and did everything WINNIN’ TIME! said to do and erased what I learned from Ivy League Law School. I realized how critical my writing structure was to my success on the bar after taking Steve’s advice. With the book by my side I gained the invaluable skill set of getting to the point in less words than ever before. Before Steve’s book I was the king of verbose writing, I thought more was better. But WINNIN’ TIME! shows you the way you attack the Bar – less is more! My writing excelled quickly and by the time I was prepared for the bar I was extremely concise and efficient in my writing structure.

Developing this writing structure got me to write faster and as a result enabled me to spot more issues than ever before. Mind you I didn’t do this alone. It was The Trigger List that got me there. You quickly realize that to generate points you gotta not only write straight to the point but spot the issues. Well, lucky for me The Trigger List did that! It showed me what word or words triggered an issue and it all became automatic. I saw the word I wrote the issue, repeat, and generate points.

After using both WINNIN’ TIME! and The Trigger List I knew the Bar would soon become a part of my past rather than a future event as it had been too many times.

I hope to one day forget about the Bar but I know I will not forget Steve’s invaluable and caring guidance. So once again, THANKS STEVE! — Daniel Felix, Esq. (passed the February 2015 California Bar Examination)

Nicole Clark, Esq., signed up late in the game, passing grade all the same! (PT Class)

I passed Feb. 2014!! With only a couple weeks left before the exam, I reached out to Steven and decided to take his PT course as well as get feedback on CA essays. I was a transplant attorney from the east coast and a single mother trying to study, work and raise a six month old, all on my own. Failing simply wasn’t an option for me. I would have been out of a job and not be able to support my child. The stakes were really high! Steven was very real with me right from the start. He told me to study now and sleep after I passed the bar. His PT course was absolutely crucial to me passing. I also found his advice regarding essays and memorization schedule really helpful. I signed up too late to take the PT course in person, but Steven allowed me to participate remotely and watch it on my own time. I used every one of his tips during the exam. While people around me were painstakingly reading every section of their library, I was crossing out huge portions as I had learned to do and not wasting time. His method works. I’m proof. Thanks Steven!! — Nicole Clark, Esq., passed the February 2014 California Bar Examination

Brett Baker, Esq., passed the July 2019 California Bar Examination

Time is Money. Your time is about to become increasingly valuable to those around you. Get ahead of the curve. Steven helped me pivot my mindset and position myself for success in my approach to the Bar “in a lawyer-like manner” from start to finish. Steven provided me with the tools and confidence to focus MY efforts to efficiently and effectively attack and anticipate the challenge before me. The day of the exam I felt ready to meet anything the examiners might throw at me head on, with confidence and resolve. The mystery was gone. It feels good to win. Don’t waste any more of your time. The time I spent preparing with Steven will continue to pay dividends long into the future. — Brett Baker, Esq., passed the July 2019 California Bar Examination
